Aleem Dar Becomes First Umpire To Officiate On-Field In 400 International Matches

LAHORE: Aleem Dar, 52 year old Pakistani umpire has now become the first umpire to officiate on field in 400 international matches. He recorded this feat on Saturday in the T20I match between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.

Aleem Dar already had the record of most appearances as an on-field umpire in Tests (136), and ODIs (211), now he also surpasses compatriot umpire, Ahsan Raza, to officiate on-field in most T20Is (53).

In a video message he thanked all his fans, supporters, family members and others for this milestone.

The interesting thing about him is that he hasn’t use his index finger to give out till date. He always has to give out with the finger of his left hand. He believes that there may be a mistake during the out signal for which he does not want to use his index finger.
